Coming here for afternoon tea was such an amazing experience. The food was delicious and filling - not three course dinner filling, think a light lunch - with fantastically tasting tea and a beautiful environment. Our server was also kind and attentive. If you're looking for something special to do to celebrate an occasion or even just wanting to feel fancy for a day, this is the place to be.

Awesome way to spend a Sunday morning. We have been to many high teas and this was lovely. Service was great (Thanks Connie!!!). The caviar add-on is absolutely worth it. Champagne is tasty. Teas were very nice. As some noted, you don't choose your own teas. This doesn't bother me at all. I enjoyed having a pairing I didn't have to think about. We also liked that we didn't have to be in charge of steeping the tea ourselves. If I had any criticism, it is just that the dessert cakes were very sweet and there were just too many of them. With that said, they pair nicely with the tea, but we aren't big into sweets. When I'm in town next I'll keep that in mind when selecting a day to visit so I can take the extra back to my hotel room so they don't go to waste. Overall, we enjoyed it and it was a great ending to our Dallas trip.

Adolphus is a beautiful hotel as is the French Room. Service was fantastic, tea was every flowing, and the food was plentiful. The place is no doubt probably one of the rare and few beautiful old world spots in Dallas. There are however a few opportunities where I really think the Adolphus/French Room has a serious opportunity to stand out. There were no choices in the tea which might have been fine but it was was VERY poorly selected. Both teas were so strong, and both Pu-Erh. The first tea was so strong, it had a bite at the end, which made it not just terrible to drink but negatively impacted the taste of the food. We called for a lighter steep which worked much better, however this still is NOT the tea to pair here. Second tea was again Pu-Eerh but in a deeper, bolder fruit flavor. It did nothing to cut the heavy sweetness of desserts. For a high tea place, the tea is the most memorable highlight. I only go so far with this aspect because the servers were going on in detail about the tea, but in fact, none of the customers here loved their tea. Take a hint :) Sandwiches were delicious for us on the day we went - and plenty, however the scones were fairly hard and although all desserts were delicious, they were too sweet and it would make sense to have a few more sandwiches than the desserts . We couldn't get through them but it was very easy to take the remaining home, the staff already had prepared cream and jams for take away. Lastly, I could never have imagined the Adolphus charging so much for this service but serving on cheap, standard cups and plates, even the water glass looked cheap. Everything adds up to the formula of high class and expensive. All in all, we had a very pleasant experience - However this wasn't completely worth approximately $100/pp for a few sandwiches, bad tea, desserts and alcohol free cider (we don't drink)

We had a wonderful experience there for our Christmas tea. Service was great. My only complaint was the cucumber sandwiches were dry. Deserts was amazing! Definitely should experience for a holiday tea.

To say I was more than disappointed is an understatement. I've had Afternoon Tea all over the world and this ranks in my bottom half. In 1 hours time I was served exactly 1 cup of tea. The waitress was very chatty but not great at making sure our tea flowed. I make better Tea sandwiches at home. They were very dry. Mostly tasteless. You wouldn't even know there was cucumber in the sandwich it was so sparse. The dessert was just average. Didn't even eat most of it. Scones were dry and tasteless. The worst part about the experience was they sat us in the lobby area, not even in the main tea room. So we had no ambiance of the actual French Room. It was terrible. And we had made reservations months and mo months in advance. For all the hype it's not worth the money!
